Our fully qualified picture framer Allan and his team take great pride in their precision work, using archivally sound practices to protect your cherished items. They work on site and are available for consultation on the trickiest job. Let the team at Murray’s help you make the best choices for your artwork, precious memorabilia, photographs, certificates, artworks, posters and more. Visit us in store for framing consultation and style advice or browse a list of our framing services below.

Custom Framing

No matter what you need framed, our qualified picture framer has years of experience framing everything from certificates and prints to precious artworks and memorabilia. Our honest and experienced team will help you choose from a selection of mat board colours and quality timber mouldings available in a wide range of classic, contemporary and ornate styles. We stretch indigenous works on canvas as well as framing oils, acrylics, watercolours, drawings, and mixed media works.  We can create float frames to perfectly fit your stretch canvas artwork. Your custom framing order will be fitted with hanging fixtures so that it is ready to hang on your wall.

Memorabilia

We offer a range of deep rebated mouldings suitable for framing three dimensional items such as souvenirs, family heirlooms, war memorabilia, collectables, dimensional art, retirement gifts and other sentimental objects, books, sporting memorabilia and jerseys. In the past we have framed a diverse collection of unique objects and combinations of items with images and text displayed within the same frame. Our framing processes are reversible and archivally sound, achieving a professional finish without making permanent changes or damage to your items.

Glass cut to size

We can cut new glass to size. Sorry we don’t cut old glass or cut down old frames but we are happy to give you advice on how to make the most of the frames you’ve got. For the carpenter or competent wood worker we also sell mouldings by the length.

For your framing project we can recommend UltraVue® UV70 Glass, a virtually invisible, anti-reflective surface for truly amazing clarity, and can provide glass alternatives like premium clear acrylic to reduce overall weight of oversized frames.

Framing Quotes

Our helpful team will guide you through the process to have your item measured and quoted using the most suitable materials for the job. For an obligation free quote for custom framing, come in and see us at 485 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba.

Quotes for framing cannot be provided over the phone or via email as these rely on the  selection of materials, framing style and specific measurements for your order. Due to the time that is required to quote on a custom framing job, when planning your visit please allow plenty of time (at least 30 minutes) to help you make the best choice for your job.

Textiles

The owner of Murray’s Art & Framing, Sue McMaster is from a dressmaking and textiles background and brings to our framing workshop a love and wealth of experience when it comes to handling your Embroidery, Tapestry and Cross stitch pieces.  We treat each order with the care and respect they deserve, offer lacing services and suggesting the appropriate style to beautifully frame and protect your textile work.

Restoration & Cleaning

Although we cannot cut old glass or cut down old picture frames, we can refresh your existing frames with new glass and mat board, a good clean and touch up chips and scratches. See our blog article about mould here.
